The Oncology, Nutrition and Exercise (ONE) Group at Penn State College of Medicine, Penn State Cancer Institute and Penn State Health Children’s Hospital is leading a transformation in cancer care. The ONE Group aims to establish evidence-based physical activity and nutrition interventions as the standard of care for patients diagnosed with cancer from the point of diagnosis forward, including active treatment, rehabilitation and for the balance of life.

The Oncology, Nutrition and Exercise (ONE) Group establishes evidence-based medicine in oncology where exercise and nutrition interventions are the standard of care for individuals diagnosed with cancer throughout their care continuum. The ONE Group is led by experienced faculty members from diverse backgrounds and disciplines, in collaboration with staff and trainees. Everyone involved with the ONE Group offers an unwavering commitment to supporting those diagnosed with cancer.
The ONE Group is leading several research studies to better understand the role of exercise and nutrition in people who are living with and beyond cancer.
The ONE Group offers undergraduate research internships and postdoctoral fellowships to highly qualified trainees interested in pursuing careers in exercise and nutrition oncology.

Penn State College of MedicineDr. Maxime Caru has a PhD in exercise physiology and a PhD in psychology.
