Join us for a day of networking and professional development as we explore the roles patient navigators and community health workers (CHW) play along the cancer care continuum, from cancer prevention and early detection/screening to diagnosis, treatment and survivorship. What is your role?
At the end of the day, participants will be able to:
- Describe key differences and similarities in the roles of clinical navigators, patient navigators and CHWs.
- Apply a best practice framework for creating a supportive environment in which CHWs can thrive.
- Explore and implement new ideas for building collaborative efforts linking community and healthcare organizations in your own community.
- Explain and utilize strategies for increasing diversity in clinical trials.
- Effectively coordinate care between CHWs, Oncology Navigators and other professionals on the care team to maximize support for patients.
- Connect with others to leverage partnerships to support your navigation team.
