Who Can Volunteer

  • Women 45 to 65 years old
  • Able to speak, read and communicate well in English
  • Living in one of the 28 counties in central Pennsylvania in Penn State Cancer Institute’s catchment area

What Volunteers Do

  • Eligible volunteers will complete a 15-minute survey online or over the phone
  • Compensation is provided to eligible participants

Dr. Jennifer Moss is an assistant professor in Penn State College of Medicine’s departments of Family and Community Medicine and Public Health Sciences.

Her research interests include:

  • Geographic disparities in cancer prevention behaviors
  • Rural health
  • Cancer prevention and control

  • Kelsey Stoltzfus, MPH, CPH

    Research Project Manager

    Kelsey Stoltzfus has a BS in biobehavioral health from Penn State and an MPH from the University of South Florida. She has research experience from multiple institutions, including the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Wash., and the National Cancer Institute in Rockville, Md.

    She is a research project manager in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Penn State College of Medicine.

  • Jayme Wood, MS

    Research Coordinator

    Jayme Wood earned her BS in biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2015. She received her MS in bioarchaeology and forensic anthropology from University College London in 2016.

    She is a medical student at Penn State College of Medicine.

  • Kelsey Leach, BS

    Research Coordinator

    Kelsey Leach has a BS in health science from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania. She has previously conducted research at the EPIS Center in State College, Pa., and with the Lycoming County Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team in Williamsport, Pa.

    She is pursuing an MPH with a focus in epidemiology and biostatistics at Penn State College of Medicine.

  • Madyson Popalis, BA

    Research Coordinator

    Madyson Popalis has a BA in health administration and policy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She has previous experience as a medical office assistant in Baltimore, Md., and as a policy analyst intern at the Hilltop Institute.

    She is pursuing an MPH with a focus in epidemiology and biostatistics at Penn State College of Medicine.
